[Suva, Fiji – 9/04/2025] – Netball Fiji is thrilled to announce that tomorrow former Australian Diamond, Joanne Morgan, will be joining forces with Head Coach Simone Nalatu and Assistant Coach Vaiti Waqatabu as part of the five-day high-performance
camp with the Baby Pearls.
This exciting initiative is part of Netball Fiji’s ongoing commitment to elevate the standard of elite netball in the country and prepare our national athletes for upcoming international competitions.
Joanne brings a wealth of international experience to the court, having represented Australia at the highest level and with her knowledge of coaching, leadership, and on court vision she will provide invaluable learning opportunities for both players and
coaching staff.
Netball Fiji President RubyAnn Sorovaki said, “We are honored to welcome Joanne to Fiji. Her presence will be incredibly inspiring for our athletes and is a testament to our commitment to building excellence through international collaboration.”
She added, “We’re also very excited at the huge learning opportunity where club and district coaches have been invited to be part of the sessions during the Baby Pearls training camps.”
The five-day training camp consists of 2 daily specialist and team sessions with national squad members.
Note: Joanne is a Former Australian Diamond, NSW Swift and Queensland Firebird player. She is now a coach and has coached in the Queensland Pathway for many years holding positions for Qld U’19 teams, a Qld Firebirds specialist coach and previous Hart Sapphire Head Coach. She was also the Assistant Coach to the Tongan Tala’s at the first PacificAusSports series in Sydney. She has Cook Islander lineage through her maternal grandmother and is passionate about the Pacific and was excited at the chance to come and work with the Baby Pearls this week.
