[Suva, Fiji – 10/04/2025] –The Fiji Netball Men’s Invitational side departs tonight for Melbourne, Australia, to compete in the 2025 Australian Men’s and Mixed Netball Association (AMMNA) Championships. The team will play 10 matches in the Reserve Grade division, gaining invaluable international exposure and high-level competition experience.
The invitation to this event followed the Fiji Men’s side tournament winning performance in Singapore last December.
Their participation at this event marks a significant step in the growth of the Men’s game and the team’s preparation for the upcoming Fiji Men’s International Series scheduled for August here in Suva.
Head Coach Jioweli Vakamoce says the AMMNA Championships will serve as a vital platform to test combinations and refine game plans.
“We’re really looking forward to the challenge in Melbourne,” said Coach Vakamoce. “Playing 10 games in a competitive environment gives our players the chance to lift their performance and adapt under pressure.
This tournament is a critical part of our roadmap to the Fiji Men’s International in August, and it will help us assess where we are and what we need to sharpen before then.”
The AMMNA Championships attract some of the best male and mixed netball talent in Australia and Fiji’s participation underscores the growing strength and depth of men’s netball in the Pacific.
Netball Fiji wishes the team every success and extends thanks to all supporters, families, district and clubs as well as our partners who continue to stand behind the growth of men’s netball in Fiji.
