Netball Fiji continues its collaboration with the Fiji National Sports Commission through its development program in the Northern Division and Beqa Island.
Netball Fiji representatives Gabriell Qoro and Losalini Bainivalu joined the FNSC team to further train and develop community coaches, umpires, school coaches, and other participants through the Educate the Educator program.
FNSC held the three days sports development program in the district of Sawau, Beqa where Netball Fiji umpires manager Losalini Bainivalu organized workshops and clinics for coaches, umpires and children.
The program brought together representatives from eight villages, as well as schoolteachers who eagerly participated in the sessions. Netball Fiji Interim sports development coordinator Gabriell Qoro travelled to Labasa to conduct a three days development program for teachers and participants in Labasa.
A total of 15 schools, 7 primary, 4 secondary, and Labasa Special School—alongside Ministry of Youth & Sports Naleba Youth Training Centre staff were part of the program. Each school has provided two teachers, with a total of 20 teachers participating on Day 1.
Mr. Qoro covered umpiring on Major & Minor Infringements, understanding the right penalties for each scenario from an umpire’s perspective, he continued to organize clinics on honing basic skills, game awareness, and spacing.
In collaborating with FNSC, Netball Fiji continues to reach out to various communities to deliver development programs and continuing to ramp up its capacity building effort.
