Fiji Pearls settled for 4th place at the 2025 PacificAus Netball Series after losing to Tonga Tala in the third place playoff at the Nissan Arena in Brisbane.
Fiji Pearls played a total of six matches including the playoffs, out of the 6 matches, the Pearls lost 4 matches, 1 draw and recorded 1 win.
Fiji Pearls commenced their campaign with an intense opening match against Tifa Moana Samoa, Fiji Pearls couldn’t counter Tifa Moana’s swift play and their defence exploited the Pearls goal line circle where they capitalised on the rebound and continue to build pressure on the Pearls and secured the victory 54-45.
Pearls took on Scotland Thistles in the second round, the Thistles who’re ranked 10th in world ranking manage to secure the victory against the Pearls 67-47. Tonga Tala came out strong in the third round against the Fiji Pearls 71-47, the Tala’s executed a fast and ariel gameplay as Fiji fell short to counter with their defence.
Fiji Pearls manage to secure their first win in round 4 against the PNG Pepes. Coach Jioweli Vakamoce adjusted his line up tweak his structure heading into their match against the Pepes. Fiji pearls dominated most facets of the play with shooting at 85%, 5 intercepts, 15 rebound, and 23 turnovers.
In the fifth round Fiji Pearls showed incredible effort in their performance coming back from 6 points down to tie the game 56-56 in the final minute against the First Nations Aus sid, putting the Pearls into the third place playoff against Tonga Tala. In the playoffs Tala remained too strong as they defeated the Pearls to secure third place, while Fiji Pearls settled at fourth place.
