Netball Fiji is deeply saddened at the passing of former Netball Fiji President, current Oceania Netball President and Oceania Netball Regional Director, Wainikiti (Kiti) Bogidrau.
Kiti had a long association with netball in Fiji where she began her netball administration journey over 20 years ago.
She was President of the Nasinu Netball Association and later became Secretary of Netball Fiji. In 2010 she spearheaded the “Friends of Netball” group that raised funds to send the National team to the World Cup Qualifiers In Cook Islands.
Kiti later served as the President of Netball Fiji from 2010 to 2020 and became a Life Member of the Fiji Netball Association in 2020.
She was then elected President of Oceania Netball at their 2019 Annual General Meeting and following this was appointed to the World Netball Board as Director of the Oceania region at Congress and has been a vital part of the World Netball Board since.
Mrs Bogidrau had a deep passion for netball and led the sport in different capacities with much enthusiasm and energy. This passion was felt not just by her Netball Fiji family but by her Oceania Netball family and across the netball world.
Netball Fiji President Mrs. RubyAnn Sorovaki said “Netball Fiji acknowledges with much appreciation her contribution to netball in Fiji and her breakthrough leadership in the sport. She will be dearly missed. Our condolences go out to her family during this sad time.”
