Fiji Netball organized a netball bench officials workshop last two weeks at Vodafone Arena. The workshop was to update the local bench officials with the 2024 World Netball technical officials manual, as Netball Fiji aim to roll out the new manual at the All Stars Netball series which commence on the 9th May.
The workshop comprised of top netball bench officials around the country. Netball Fiji Technical Officials Manager Courtney Bitu explained that local officials needed to learn about the new manual before taking part in Netball Fijis official netball tournament.
“The intention is to roll the new 2024 edition of technical officials manual and the new rules, we want to keep our bench officials updated with the new roles,” said Courtney.
“What we have done is just called in our top bench officials so the session is basically just getting them through knowing what are the new manual will be used in Netball Fijis national tournaments before being rolled out to all district netball competitions.”
“It’s after 4 years since we have revised the new manual, so at the moment we are just looking at applying it in the national
tournaments and the first one where we will be using these new forms is the all stars national tournament that’s coming up.”
“For the districts we have not yet rolled this out to the districts however we have district trainings that are coming up in
few weeks and therefore we will organise district technical officials training.”
“ Associations organising tournaments held around Fiji are still using the old manual, right now our focus is just to get started off with this All Stars tournament using the new international manual and then we will go down to the districts to introduce to them the new rules.”
