NewsCoaching workshop for Lautoka Club Coaches focus on player wellbeing

Netball Fiji conducted a two-days coaching workshop for Lautoka club coaches at the Red Cross Hall in Vomo, Lautoka, from March 13th to March 14th.

A total of seven club coaches from the Lautoka Netball association were in attendance during the workshop led by Fiji Pearls head coach Una Rokoura where she focused on the fundamentals of coaching. Participants covered the key elements of coaching while Rokoura emphasised the importance of player well-being and effective coaching strategies for players development.

Coach Rokoura stressed the importance of training club coaches in these fundamental elements.

The workshop aimed to cover fundamental aspects of coaching, including team training methods, session planning, and the importance of activation,” explained Rokoura.

“These are crucial elements that our club coaches need to prioritize in their respective teams.”

Rokoura added that coaches will also need to understand the importance of players wellbeing looking at players development from grassroots.

“Netball coaches around the country should understand that the wellbeing of their players is crucial at the stage where they’re at in grassroots level.”

“This stage is pivotal for players’ development as they progress through the levels of the game,” Rokoura emphasized.

The next coaching workshop is scheduled for Nadroga Netball Association this weekend 23rd – 24th.
