National Coach, Unaisi Rokoura, stated “We were very clear on our selection requirements for the Pearls going forward. As a result we have four debutants and I am excited to see how they will stand up in the PacificAus Sports Series.”
Rokoura added, “Those players who did not make the team this time have an opportunity to stake their claim in the upcoming National Championship. The national selectors will be on hand to choose at least 5 players to join the current Fiji Pearls team when they return from Australia. There will also be a development squad of 8 players who will keep the Pearls in their sights and fight for a spot in the team.”
Netball Fiji CEO, Vivian Koster stated “We are proud to announce our team to the PacificAus Sports Series. We are especially proud of the four debutants. As the national coach has stated, those players who did not make this team have the opportunity to fight their way back through the national championship in October. We wish our team well in the PacificAus Sports Netball Series.”
