Netball Fiji is deeply saddened at the passing of Mrs Karalaini Seruiratu.
Mrs. Seruiratu was a former President of the Fiji Secondary Schools Netball Association and is currently an Executive Member of the Fiji Netball Association.
Kara as she was fondly known, had a strong passion for netball which was evident in her involvement in the sport at different levels and in different capacities. She served the sport with love, a smiling face and gentleness.
Last month she led the Western Secondary Schools netball rally and worked tirelessly to ensure the event was a success, following this she brought the qualifying teams to Suva and was there to support them to the last game.
Netball Fiji President Mrs. RubyAnn Sorovaki said “We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Kara. Though gentle and quiet, she was incredibly hardworking and brought a calm, steady presence to every meeting and gathering. Her dedication and kindness touched all of us, and she will be greatly missed by the entire Executive Committee and the netball community.”
She added, “At the most recent Netball Fiji Fundraising and Farewell dinner held on Saturday 6th September for the Baby Pearls, Kara came through from the West to offer her usual support and assistance and we were so blessed to spend that time with her.”
“Our thoughts are with her family and loved ones during this difficult time. May both she and Talatala Seruiratu rest in eternal peace”.
