Last week was packed with netball competitions, workshops, and clinics across the country.
The Fiji 19&U team played their first match against the Aotearoa Maori Netball team at FNU Gymnasium on Saturday 28th, they played their second match yesterday Monday 30th. The two teams will compete in a 3-match series as part of Aotearoa Maori’s Tour to Fiji.
The FinanceHub Super League competition continued over the weekend as Suva Swifts IGA managed to complete their sixth and seventh round robin matches fielding in two teams to play Nadi and Lautoka to complete their round robin matches in Lautoka Multipurpose court.
After seven rounds of games, Suva Swifts IGA now tops the pool table with 15 points and 221%, followed by Baby Pearls Team Kacau with 15 points and 104%. The Super League competition is scheduled to held its Finals on the 5th October.
Nadroga Netball held its club competition Salad Bowl Netball Festival over the weekend, netball clubs from around the country took part in the festival including the Wanderers Netball Club from Australia. The Wanderers team also played Suva Netball Super Grade teams Lomaiviti, Ovalau, Nairai, and Development Grade’s Lomaiviti Koro.
Workshops and netball clinics were also in full swing last week as the Fiji National Sports Commission Team together with Netball Fiji facilitator concluded a comprehensive train the trainer program in Navakasiga, Bua and in Rotuma.
The program saw youths and women participants being trained and learning the fundamentals of delivering netball coaching and clinics, participants will go on to contribute immensely to Sports Development in the region.
Netball Fiji will conclude its FinanceHub Super League campaign this weekend, the Fiji 19&U will also complete their 3-match series against Aotearoa tomorrow 6.30pm at FNU Gymnasium.
