A total of 132 teams will take part in the 2024 Crest Chicken Fiji Secondary Schools Netball Finals from 21-23rd August at the National Netball Centre, LICI Courts and FMF Gymnasium in Laucala, Suva.
This year 80 schools with total of 1584 athletes will be participating in the finals after qualifying from respective zones across the country. The top two teams in all grades from the nine zones have qualified for a spot in the Crest Chicken Secondary Schools Finals.
President of Fiji Secondary Schools Netball Navitalai Naivalu expressed his gratitude towards Goodman Fielder for its support in sponsoring the Fiji Secondary Schools Netball Finals and aiding in the growth of grassroots netball in Fiji.
Fiji Secondary Schools Netball President Mr. Navitalai Naivalu thanked Goodman Fielder for supporting grassroots netball in sponsoring the Fiji Secondary Schools Netball Final. Mr. Naivalu added that the sponsorship will help develop netball from the grassroots level, and provide more opportunity for the young athletes.
“This means supporting development in secondary schools’ netball, we have more than 4000 netball players in secondary schools around the country, and we have the best teams coming in to perform and play in the national tournament.”
“Teams from remote locations like Rotuma and Adi Maopa Secondary School from Lau will also be participating after a decade-long absence, adding an element of anticipation to the event.
“These schools will need to pass through rally competitions, with the victorious ones progressing to compete in the nationals.”
Suva Grammar is the defending champion for the U14 to U19 grade while, Yet Sen claimed the Open Boys Title last year.
