Netball Fiji will commence its second season of the FinanceHub Super League from the 29th of June. The 2024 season will include four new teams into the competition.
The Nadi netball team, Tailevu and the two National U21 teams have been added to the 2024 FinanceHub Super League. The tournament will be a round-robin format of 7 rounds over 7 weeks followed by a final where each team will be ranked and a Championed crowned.
The Finance Hub Super League is the country’s premier tier one netball competition and was added to Netball Fiji’s competition schedule to set the platform for the country’s top netball players to showcase their talents. This year the tournament is serving as a selection platform for players to make either the the Fiji Pearls and Fiji A squads. Announcement of these players will be made at the conclusion of the League. The squads will then go into preparation work for the 2025 international netball season. The tournament will also serve as a preparation platform for the National 21&U squad for the upcoming World Youth Championship next year.
Netball Fiji CEO Vivian Koster said that the tournament has been adjusted this year to give the opportunity to all teams to play home and away games. “Each team will host games at home which will allow more of their fans to cheer for them. It will also allow for our young netballers around the country to watch their favorite players in action. For these reasons we
are grateful to our sponsors FinanceHub for investing in netball and young people and understanding the importance of sport in promoting healthy living and building communities.”
The round robin format will see each team hosting 4 home games and playing three away games. The 2023 Finance Hub Super League Champion the New World Suva team will take on National 21&U team Kikau in round one at the FMF Gymnasium on the 28th June while the other matches will be held on th 29th. Lautoka Stars will take on Tailevu at the Lautoka Multipurpose court, Nadi takes on Nadroga Stallions at Lawaqa park, while Nasinu Gold takes on National 21&U team Kacau at the LICI Courts in Laucala.
