Netball Fiji has officially announced Anasimeci Rakavosa and Iliseva Drasuna as the assistant coaches for the 21&U team.

Both coaches bring valuable experience to their roles, having recently served as National Academy coaches. Drasuna oversees the 17&U academy, while Rakavosa mentors the 19&U academy.

Iliseva Drasuna previously served as the assistant coach for the Fiji 21&U team in their 2022 match against Singapore. Drasuna was also assistant coach to Kate Carpenter for the Fiji Pearls Team in the 2015 Digicel Punjas International Series against PNG and Singapore. Drasuna was also a former Fiji 21&U player back in 2004 in a test match against the New Zealand Under 21 team.

Anasimeci Rakavosa, originally from Ovalau, boasts a strong playing background, having represented the Fiji Pearls back in 2007. Rakavosa also contributes to Netball Fiji’s development efforts as a coach developer, organizing netball clinics around the country. Her dedication to coaching excellence was further demonstrated by her participation in the Global Coach Conference (GCC) held in Singapore last year, where she engaged with top coaching development experts and gained insights into new coaching research.

Rakavosa and Drasuna will join head coach Simone Nalatu in preparing for the upcoming Netball World Youth Cup Oceania Qualifier in Cook Islands in September. They will continue their collaboration in guiding the team through the Netball World Youth Cup in Gibraltar in 2025.
