Netball Fiji has announced a roster comprising a total of 66 players who will be integral members of the U17 and U19 National Academy.
Scheduled to commence on October 7, 2023, Netball Fiji will roll out its first training program of the National Academy.
Following the National Championship and the Secondary Schools Net- ball tournament, Netball Fiji organised a 1 week National Academy train- ing camp. This intensive week-long training camp witnessed the best- performing athletes from the secondary schools tournament and the Na- tional Championship vying for a spot in the National Academy.
On hand were the National Academy selectors, entrusted with the task of evaluating players and forming the final squad.
The primary objective of the National Academy is to foster the young tal- ents round the country. The 2023 National Academy will also serve as a preparatory platform for players gearing up for the Netball World Youth Cup qualifiers, scheduled for the following year.
Netball Fiji is set to kick off Camp 1 on October 7, commencing with an induction session followed by training.
The comprehensive program will encompass a total of four camps, con- cluding with an eagerly awaited Academy Tournament. Camp 2 is slated for October 21, camp 3 on November 4, and camp 4 on November 11, with the academy tournament taking place from December 11 to De- cember 13.
