Fiji Pearls duo Reama Verekauta and Avelina Navue flew into Sydney early this morning where they will be playing for the Blaze in the NSW Premier League regular season.
The two players will not only take the court for the Blaze, they will also be fully immersed in the club’s high-performance environment and other player development programme.
This immersion program is part of the PacificAus Sports Netball program, which is made possible by the Australian Government (DFAT) and Netball Australia.
Blaze Netball Team is based in Wollongong. Reama and Avelina will be immersed with the team for one month.
Netball Fiji CEO Vivian Koster added that the duo will be playing for the Blaze team in the NSW Premier League under the leadership of former Fiji Pearl (2003-2007) and Sydney Swift player Marji Parr.
“They will be playing under the guidance of former Fiji rep Marj Parr, this will be a great opportunity for them where they’ll further develop in a different atmosphere.”
