Jimaima Kete is immensely grateful to her her parents who have continuously stood by her side and provided unwavering support throughout her netball journey. Jima said that their consistent presence and assistance has played a crucial role in her achievements.
 
Jima hails from Matuku, Makadru in Lau, with maternal links to Nabouono, Macuata. The 21-year old has booked a spot in the final 12-member Fiji Pearls team to the upcoming World Cup in Cape Town next month. As she embarks on this significant milestone in her career, Jimaima reflects on the steadfast support she has received from her parents. 
 
Jimaima fondly recalls her first foray into netball during her primary school years at AOG Primary, where she started playing in the nine-and-under grade. From day one, her parents have been her pillars of support, with her mother, Kereni Ledua, consistently encouraging her to train diligently and strive for greatness in her netball pursuits.
 
“My mom and dad have always been incredibly supportive, always encouraging me to reach the highest point in my netball journey,” Jimaima shares with gratitude.
 
“Their support has brought me to where I am today. I made a promise to myself to reach the pinnacle of my netball career and make them proud.”
 
Jimaima believes that her selection to the Fiji team for the World Cup is a testament to the years of hard work she has put in. She firmly believes that anyone can achieve their goals if they are dedicated and willing to put in the necessary effort.
 
“I firmly believe that when we are fully invested in our pursuits, we will ultimately reap the rewards. Success doesn’t happen overnight; it is a product of patience, hard work, and trusting the process,” Jima emphasizes. 
 
This patience and hard work is clear from Jima’s, as she is fondly known in the netball circles, being one of only 2 players who played in all 5 International Tournaments including the Qualifiers on the Fiji Pearls schedule.
 
As she prepares to represent her country on the world stage, Jimaima who plays for the Lomaiviti Club in Suva hopes to inspire others to pursue their dreams with dedication and resilience. With the unwavering support of her parents by her side, she is determined to leave her mark in the netball world, showcasing the results of her relentless pursuit of excellence.
