Despite unfavourable weather conditions, the teams and players displayed unwavering determination during the second round of the Finance Hub Super League at the Lautoka Multipurpose court.
The round kicked off with an intense match between Capital Force Suva and a formidable Ra Roosters team. Capital Force Suva showcased their strength, securing their second win of the campaign.
Suva dominated the first quarter, leading with a scoreline of 16-8. They continued to build on their momentum, adding 20 more points in the second quarter while Ra managed to score only 8 goals, resulting in a score of 36-16. Suva extended their lead to 57-21 in the third quarter and ultimately emerged victorious with a resounding final score of 74-32.
In another exciting match, Nasinu Gold achieved a remarkable victory against the Naitasiri Highlanders with a significant margin of 98-20, securing their first win of the Finance Hub Super League.
Nasinu Gold started the game strongly, establishing a substantial lead of 28-2 in the first quarter. They continued their dominance in the second quarter, extending their lead to 51-10. Nasinu Gold’s fast-paced gameplay proved to be too much for the Highlanders as they further widened the gap to 75-18 in the third quarter. Ultimately, Nasinu Gold sealed the victory with an impressive 98 points, while the Highlanders settled with 20 points.
The last game witnessed the host team, Lautoka Stars, emerging victorious over the Nadroga Stallions with a commanding 73-21 goals. The Stars took an early lead of 16-6 in the first quarter and continued to dominate in the second quarter, with the score reaching 32-8. In the third quarter, Lautoka Stars displayed their skill, amassing a total of 73 points, while Nadroga managed to secure a total of 21 points.
Looking ahead, the third round of the Finance Hub Super League is scheduled to take place at the Lautoka Multipurpose court next weekend on June 10th, while the remaining rounds will be held at the FMF Gymnasium in Suva.
