Netball Fiji is pleased to officially announce the PacificAus Sports Fiji Netball Youth Championship.
10 teams from the major districts of Suva, Nasinu, Nadroga, Nadi and Lautoka will compete in the 2-day tournament on Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd April at the Vodafone Arena.
Netball Fiji CEO Vivian Koster said, ‘Netball Fiji is able to build its high performance program through the support we receive from the PacificAus Sports program. The Fiji Netball Youth Championship is one part of that build. It is an opportunity for our athletes to test themselves against their peers and to put their hands up to selectors for the Fiji 21&U squad and the Fiji Pearls squad.
The tournament is also part of our long term preparations for the 2025 Netball World Youth Cup. Fiji finished 4th at the last World Youth Cup in Botswana, and we aim to equal or better that performance,” Koster added.
Netball Fiji acknowledges the hard work of its members in preparing their teams for the tournament, and are excited to see the competition over the 2-days.
The competition runs from 11am-7:30pm on Friday and 10am-4:30pm on Saturday. Prices are $5 for adults and $3 for children (12 and under).
PacificAus Sports is a program funded by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in partnership with Netball Australia.
Netball Fiji also continues its long standing partnership with Viti FM as audio partner for the tournament.
