Netball Fiji is sharpening its pathway to the world stage following the announcement by World Netball of the qualification process for the Netball World Cup 2027, to be held in Sydney from 25 August to 5 September 2027.
The Netball World Cup will feature play off the world’s top 16 netball teams. With 10 qualification spots still open available, Fiji will look aim to secure its place through the Oceania Regional Qualifiers in Tonga this September.
For Netball Fiji, the focus is clear, build strong systems, grow local talent, and prepare a competitive national side.
Netball Fiji Transition Committee Chair, Vasiti Vocea said that “this qualification journey is more than a campaign, it is a statement that we will fight to get back to what we used to be, and better. Fiji belongs on the world stage, and we are building a pathway that ensures our athletes get there and thrive.”
The Oceania Qualifier is expected to be fiercely contested with only two teams progressing advancing to the World Cup. For Fiji, it represents both a significant challenge and a powerful opportunity to reclaim turn its place on to the global stage.
With a clear pathway now in place, Netball Fiji is committed to building a team ready to compete, not just participate.
