The Baby Pearls are honing up their preparation as they’re drawing closer to the 2025 Netball World Youth Cup scheduled to commence on the 19th of September in Gibraltar.
Baby Pearls team manager Lusiana Rakavono said that they’re in the final stage of their preparations as they continue to build up with the main focus on more match play scenarios.
“We’re in our final stage of preparation right now, we’re having 5 training sessions per week with two gym sessions and three court sessions throughout the week.”
Rakavono said that they’ve been engaging in scrimmage sessions with other U21 teams and they’re looking to continue their scrimmage with the Fiji Men’s team.
“What we want is to get our players as much intense game time as possible, we’re looking to have few more scrimmage session with our Fiji Men’s team, something that will expose the girls to high intense game.”
Rakavono added that three overseas based players will join the team on the 1st of
September.
“Right now, they’re continuing with our training program and constantly updating our S&C trainer with their progress, they’ll join us on 1st September, and we’ll continue our buildup,” said Rakavono.
She added that the vibes in training camps are great with “the players enjoying all sessions, and team spirit is at all time high as they continue to build up their bond and gel in during court sessions.”
The team will depart for Gibraltar on the 12th of September, the Baby Pearls will take on Trinidad & Tobago in their World Cup opener on the 19th of September.
