The Lautoka Netball Association hosted the Western Rally Netball Tournament over the weekend where a total of 44 teams with 11 Mens teams from around the western division competed in the various division in the tournament.
The Western Rally Tournament was brought back to life after a 19 years hiatus, and this year saw a total of 528 players from across eight districts in the western division.
The tournament featured several divisions, including the 17 and under, 21 and under, women’s open division, senior division, men’s division, and the Indo Fijian division.
The Bounty Netball Club from Lautoka made an impressive mark at the Western Rally Netball Tournament after winning both the Men’s and Women’s divisions.
Netball Fiji President, Mrs. RubyAnn Sorovaki, commended the Lautoka Netball Association for their outstanding effort in reaching out to various districts such as Navosa, Ra, Vatukoula, Vatukaloko, Nadi, Yasawa, and Nadroga. Mrs Sorovaki expressed her excitement at seeing the western division regain its momentum and emphasized the importance of associations supporting one another.

The revival of the Western Rally Tournament after nearly two decades has reignited the spirit of netball in the region. Organizers are delighted with the successful staging of the annual tournament, and they are proud to witness the love for netball thriving in the western districts.
Dorothy Prasad, the Lautoka Netball Association president is proud of the successful staging of the tournament.
“It is a testament of the love of netball for districts in the West and that netball is very much alive.
Mrs Prasad also revealed plans to organize the second round of the rally in Vatukaloko around December, indicating the tournament’s commitment to becoming a regular fixture in the netball calendar.
