12 teams were divided in 2 pools of 6 teams each. Each team played every other team in their pool in a round robin format with the 2 top teams from both pools qualifying for the semi final. The winners of the 2 semi-final played in the grand final.
Both the semi finals ended in a draw at the end of regulation time and the teams played till a team was ahead by 2 goals to declare winner. The closely contested semi-finals set up for an exciting grand finals. The 2 finalist had met earlier in the round robin pool matches and were only separated by a goal.
