The Tailevu Netball Association are aiming to use the FinanceHub Super League platform to build up and develop their pool of players from their club competitions.

Tailevu Netball President Seini Soroacagi explained how they’re looking to develop their top players from club levels in the Super League competition.

“The 12 teams in our club competitions are from villages around Tailevu, last year Tailevu Netball was not part of the FinanceHub Super League season as we started our club competition a bit late, and this year we have organize our club games on time so we can be part of the Super League.”

“Majority of our players play at club level in our club competition every year, and to be part of this competition it gives them exposure to another level of competition, and play a long season competition will help improve their game,” said Soroacagi.
“Our players are not seasoned players like other district teams, as I’ve mentioned they just play at district club level and after our club competition the season end there for them, for us to be playing in a long season competition will help improve our players performance and we’re looking to develop our pool of players throughout the season.”

Soroacagi added that they’ve seen a slight improvement in their club competition and at team training as players tend to be more competitive and motivated.

“We’ve got a total of 20 players in our Super League squad, we’ve noticed that our players are more motivated in training and at our club competition, we will focus on preparing our team well for the season and all our games will be an experience for our players and learning platform on what to improve.”

“Our players knows that all position will be contested every week for our Super League team, this is something that I noticed has created that competitive environment in our squad and in our competition.”

Soroacagi said that “this is a great opportunity for netball in Fiji to grow to another level, having a season competition that creates more high level gametime with other districts.”

“Having a season long competition is healthy for the game of Netball in Fiji.”
