Netball Fiji concluded its first round of the FinanceHub Super League after Suva, Nasinu, Nadi and Lautoka hosted their first home games while Tailevu, Nadroga, and the two Baby Pearls Team played their first away matches.
The season began in a competitive first round of matches with tightly contested games across the venues.
The first round commenced on Friday 28th June at the Nadi Muslim Court as Nadi Jets played Nadroga Stallions, while Suva Swifts IGA took on Baby Pearls Team Kikau at the FMF Gymnasium in Suva.
Nadroga secured their first win of the season against Nadi with a three-point win over Nadi 40-37, while the Suva Swifts IGA managed to overcome a spirited Baby Pearls Team Kikau 62-42.
The second day of round 1 saw a strong start for the Baby Pearls Team Kacau after upsetting a well experienced Nasinu Tactixs team in a close and electrifying matchup 53-51 at the FMF Gymnasium. The Lautoka Stars displayed a dominant performance over Tailevu Doves in the last game of round 1 with a strong finish 60-33 at the Lautoka Multipurpose Court.
Round 2 will begin with Baby Pearls Team Kacau hosting Suva Swift IGA on 5th July at the FMF Gymnasium 6pm. On Saturday 6th July Tailevu Doves will host Baby Pearls Team Kikau at Vunivivi Court at 12pm, Nasinu Tactix will host Nadroga Stallions 12pm at the FMF Gymnasium while Nadi hosts Lautoka Stars 12pm at Nadi Muslim Court.
